Late Train RailAid
If you experienced a delay in your train arrival, you may be eligible for compensation under EU regulations. We will assist you in submitting your claim, so you can receive the compensation that you are entitled to.
Travel delays and disruption
RailAid covers additional travel expenses up to the limit provided if your departure on a High-Speed train is delayed for more than 4 hours or a replacement ticket refund for delays of 12 hours or more if you cancel you trip.
Fine fighter protection
If you receive any fines while traveling on a high-speed train in Italy with a ticket purchased on italiarail.com, don't worry! We will provide a refund.
Baggage and travel documents protection

Travel delays and disruption
Delay in excess of 4 hours:
- Limits: Up to USD $50 per person
- Maximum amount to be paid in excess: NIL
Delay of over 12 hours: We will pay up to USD $200 towards;
- Cost of replacement ticket / incremental costs for alternative ticket (same class as original travel); or
- Overnight accommodation if no alternative service departing the same day (max 3 Star - Room only costs)
Excess: NIL
Baggage and travel documents protection
Applies for loss, damage or theft of personal belongings while on a trip
- Single articles limit: USD $100 per person
- Valuables limit: USD $100 per person
- Maximum: USD $500 per person
Maximum amount to be paid in excess: USD $50
Emergency medical
Including expenses incurred in the Repatriation of the Member to their Country of Domicile
Limits: Up to USD $20,000 per person
Maximum amount to be paid in excess: USD $100
Personal accident
Applies due to death, loss of limb or loss of sight as a result of accidental injury while boarding, traveling on, or disembarking a high-speed train. Must be reported immediately to the Rail Authorities and receive local medical treatment.
Limits: Up to USD $5,000 per person
Maximum amount to be paid in excess: NIL
